After doing a lot of research, I purchased this tape in lieu of the pre-cut strips to re-assemble my Apple iMac 5k 27 inch as I knew I'd be going back in for multiple upgrades and system configuration changes. This tape has far exceeded my expectations as it has now become my 'go to' tape for everything. To date I've switched out 3 iMac LCD displays with this tape. All doing great. (You have to make sure to align the panel perfectly or else you'll get some lifting. If the tape is applied throughout, there is no risk of the panel falling down but I recommend going back in and redoing the tape until you get a perfect seal. After each install, I would apply this tape and then use clear tape to secure the LCD for a few days. Upon removal of the clear tape, the seal should be nice and tight.)In using it for its intended use of holding my Retina LCD panel up, I can assure you it's been over two months and I'm not crying over a broken screen. The width of this tape is thicker than what's needed so you can either trim it down or fold it. Either method works. I believe tape that is roughly 5-6MM would be perfect, but you can make this work.As the other reviews have stated, this is in fact 3m tape and is really strong and tacky. I've now used it to tape my USB hub to the base of my iMac and it stays put, even after tugging on a stubborn usb stick. I had tried other double stick tape to no avail and was ecstatic this worked. I've found that this tape works better if you heat it up after applying it. Living in a hot town (Phoenix) I have the luxury of having this done naturally.You'll find many different uses for this tape so it's handy to have around. Great purchase that will go a long way as 50m lasts a long time!I used this to dry-fit some trim going above my cabinets to make sure it all fit before nailing it in. Held great.Also worked when I added it to some flat speaker wire to make my own version of ghost wire.It's super thin stuff, and sticks very well.Good enough for the usual poster/calendar attachments.Surprisingly enough, works as carpet-tape, too! I eventually had to but the “C” screw attachments so they stayed in place. This tape might be good for shorter strips but for mine that was the entire 13 feet each way on a flat vertical surface seemed too heavy for this tape. It’s comparable to the tape that comes included with the lights.I specifically bought this tape for my Dreamscreen LED TV Backlighting ( like Ambilight ). The double sided tape the Dreamscreen came with just didn't hold so i replaced it with the 3M tape. The 3M tape was a little bit wider than the LED strips but still fit nicely with too much tape overhung. So far all of the strips that I put on seem to be holding tight with exception to the 1 or 2 strip that i pulled off and replaced...they are peeling off slowly, I suppose I will have to redo those 2 so that they will hold. Just make sure not to stick it down and pull it back off to adjust it and they should stick great. Bottom line...Good double sided tape. Only 4 stars because of the peeling.I have never bought 2 sided tape that smells as bad as this product. The smell will of course get on your hands. If you use this tape to mount pictures and etc in a scrapbook, the book will stink unpleasantly. For how long? I dont know. Is this truly a 3M product? It says so on the tape liner. But I cant believe 3M would make a product with a smell like this. Besides the info in the Amazon ad says the manufacturer is Rextin...whoever that is.Its good, I would recommend it.It's easy to use good value for the money is not very strong like the one comes with when you buy something But it does the job Maybe if you leave it a little longer it would one hold better i don't knowGreat value. Used to run some flat white wires along the edges of a white wall and it's barely noticeable!It's very sticky and easy to use. However, it's not so easy to be removed.
